West Hollywood Launches Summer Group Exercise Classes at City Facilities
West Hollywood residents can join structured group fitness sessions at city-managed sites with new summer schedules rolling out this month.
How we reported this

West Hollywood Recreation Center on North San Vicente Boulevard opened registration this week for its July group exercise lineup, including morning HIIT sessions and evening yoga flows that run through August 28.
City facilities have seen steady demand for indoor group options since temperatures climbed above 85 degrees on multiple days last month, drawing locals away from outdoor trails along Melrose Avenue and toward air-conditioned rooms with scheduled instructors.
Key venues and class options
The Recreation Center hosts four weekly strength classes limited to 25 participants each, while Plummer Park Community Center on Santa Monica Boulevard offers Zumba and barre sessions three evenings a week in its main gym space. Both sites require advance sign-up through the city portal and accept walk-ins only when space remains after online enrollment closes 24 hours prior.
Plummer Park added a new 6:30 p.m. mobility class on Tuesdays starting July 14, and the Recreation Center expanded its Wednesday spin roster to two back-to-back slots to accommodate 50 riders total. Residents living within West Hollywood city limits pay $12 per 45-minute session, with a 10-class punch card available for $100.
Enrollment details and next steps
Last fiscal year the city recorded 4,872 total attendances across its group fitness programs at these two locations, according to the Parks and Recreation Department report released in May. New participants must complete a one-time liability waiver online before their first class.
Anyone interested can visit the city website or call the Recreation Center front desk at 323-848-6400 to check remaining spots for the current cycle. Schedules update every four weeks, with the next block opening July 20.
