The plan influences replacement of baseball diamonds at Bill Botts Park with soccer fields and conversion of a portion of Syd Kronenthal Park's softball field into an outdoor performance space. Local clubs gain access to updated surfaces that match current participation patterns in team sports.

Stadium Renaming and Olympic Planning Add Focus

Culver City High School's newly renovated stadium was officially renamed Jerry Chabola Stadium in honor of the school's longtime athletic director. Separately, Culver City signed a memorandum of understanding with the New Zealand Olympic Committee to host the nation's Fan Zone and New Zealand House at the historic Culver Hotel during the 2028 LA Games. These steps tie existing venues to broader events that draw participants and visitors.

The historic Culver Ice Arena, a 52-year Westside landmark used by Olympians and the LA Kings, closed its doors permanently as the property was sold to developer Planet Granite for a rock-climbing and fitness facility. Remaining clubs now operate around the reconfigured fields and the renamed high school stadium, where maintenance improvements support regular schedules.
